fish eye
May 13, 2008
These three pictures were taken with a fish eye lens. I like the first and second pictures because I feel like the fish eye effect is apparent. The third picture, however doesn’t have as much of the fish eye as I’d want. I like the fish eye lens because it allows you to look at a person in a completely new way. Their face almost looks distorted. Overall I like these three pictures and would change little.
These three pictures are from a water fountain outside of a church. The overall picture of the fountain was, i now reolize, much prettier than three smaller pictures. I like the first picture because it’s simple. I also like the rust and cracks in the fountain, though some might see these as flaws. The second picture could have been taken better. It is at an awkward angle. I like the third picture, because of the curvey lines and water drops. I also like it simply because I always like taking pictures of small details within a bigger picture; things we might usually miss.
trash can
May 13, 2008
These trash can pictures were from a little while ago. I don’t know why I haven’t used them yet, because I like them. I like the second picture’s lines the most. The viewer’s eyes can follow them from the top of the picture down to the bottom. The paint detail on the first and second photos also allows the viewer to look a bit closer at the picture. I like all three of these, but would change the third picture. It is a bit sideways, and it bothers me.
The boys
May 13, 2008
In these three pictures these boys stayed up all night because we wanted to see the sun rise. You can see in jess’s eyes how tired he is. In the first and last picture, the boys are simply doing their own things in their own little worlds. They are intertaining themselves in their own ways. The middle picture was from a different night but I thought it went well with the other two pictures. Though it is blurred, I like the middle picture because of the red wall behind the blurred feet. I didn’t really have a main focus for these pictures, however I liked how they turned out.
These three pictures were all random things in gina’s backyard. She has a beautiful backyard because it is full of small details. The first picture is of a flower pot. I love all the splatterd colors on the pot. In the backround, off to the right, you can see another brightly colored flower pot. In the second picture, you can tell what it is right away. It isn’t abstract or anything. I think if I could, I’d re-do this picture. I thought I liked it looking through my camera, though now that I see it on my computer, I see it as a boring picture. However, it looks neat in person. The third picture I like because you can’t really tell what it is. But, what you see is what it is. I like the way the rust looks against the live plants. Its almost like opposites within one picture.
rain
May 13, 2008
I don’t usually take that many pictures of flowers, but today it reflects my mood. Summer has just begun and it has been too hot to do ANYTHING! Today, however has been beautiful. cool and rainy. I was in a really good mood today so i decided to take pictures of flowers. In the first picture I like the curved line in the backround. I like the second picture because the lines of the cactus all go out and frame the flowers kind of. In the third picture I really the color of the flower against the brick wall. It is raining right now and Street’s room is filled with the smell. I like flowers on days like today.
faces
May 13, 2008
With these three pictures my goal was to capture a piece of all three boys’ personalities. What I like about all of these is that they show a side that isn’t usually shown. In the first picure is gilbert. Around teachers and people he doesn’t know he comes off as a very shy person. However, in this picture he gives off an outgoing kind of look; almost threatening. The second picture is of adam. At school he seems like he’s got a pretty good head on his shoulders. However, in this picture it shows the fact that he can be a little crazy at times. The third picture is of Jess. This shows a sensitive side of him; usually never seen by others. I like all three of these pictures and I believe I reached my original goal.
Is your bed made?
April 29, 2008
These three pictures were taken at Canon Beach. I love how foggie all three of them are and how the waves in the water are so apparent. In the first picture I like how the poles curve in a line and lead the viewer to the unusual tree at the end. However, I kind of feel like there is too much going on in the foreground and background together. The second picture is a little more simple; A girl standing by herself in front of the beach. It is a darker picture and the fog is more noticable. I don’t like how the fog makes the picture kind of sad. In the third picture, I like how there is one hill connected from the foreground to the background. This connection also leads the viewer.
Ms. Charming

What I like about my three blog posts is that they all go together. The middle picture shows a woman sitting by herself drinking tea. However, the other two pictures focus on little details that make this woman seem more sophisticated. In the middle picture I really could have used more light. I also could have croped it down more. I feel like the middle picture has too much empty space. If I would’ve croped it, Gina would have been more of the focal point - rather than a somewhat empty room. Although I would have changed alot with my middle picture, I don’t think I’d change anything with the first and second picture. I am happy with the overall outcome of all three put together.

I like that in these three pictures the model, Adam Stratman just looks like he is having a good time. His facial expressions are not forced at all. I like the lighting in all the pictures, it’s not too hot. The outfit from the drama department added alot to these pictures as well. The lighting in the second picture may be a little hot, but nothing dramatic. One thing I would change is Adam’s expression in the third picture; the way he is holding his mouth takes away from the picture.
